Christian Lamb, a GHS senior, competed against 160 other high school scholars
who had a minimum of 28 ACT and a 3.5 GPA. All those who competed were by
special invitation from Rockhurst University.
This competition was held at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri and
students from the Midwest (nine different states) attended.
Lamb was named as one of 10 Valedictorian for his 2010 Guthrie graduating class.
They competed for 9 full tuition scholarships valued at $99,800.00 each. The
selection process was three interview sessions of 40 minutes each with five to
six students per session being quizzed and interviewed by two professors.
Oklahoma had three scholars in the competition.
Lamb, who has been a member of the Guthrie football team, was notified on
Wednesday of this week that he had won one of those scholarships.
