The Lady Jays picked up their biggest win of the season with a 46-44 win over El Reno. The Lady Indians are expected to be the number three overall seed and Guthrie is expected to be assigned to the Western Heights regional, who will be the number four seed.

Teams in 5A have mentioned they do not want to play a 5-14 Guthrie team because they are better then what their record indicates.

The Lady Jays shot 63% from the field while El Reno managed just 21% shooting in the first quarter as Guthrie held a slim 11-8 lead after the first quarter. Guthrie started the game on a 9-0 run in the first 3:58.

Senior guard Alexis Daniels picked up her third foul with 3:24 left until halftime and had to go to the bench. El Reno took advantage with an 11-2 run from that point to take their first lead and a halftime lead of 22-17.

Guthrie, however, responded with 19 third quarter points, including a 6-0 run to start the quarter to take the lead back, 23-22, and took a 36-33 advantage into the final quarter.

The Indians tied the game at 40 with 1:53 left, but the Lady Jays never gave their hard fought lead up to pick up the road win.

Alexis Daniels, who finished with eight points, hit four crucial free throws in the final 35 seconds to help secure the win. Senior forward Kacey Acker led the Jays in scoring with 14 points.
