Chickasha, Okla. --
Despite playing without the services of junior Allyson Chadd and
senior Alexis Daniels, both starters, the Lady Jays basketball
team still had Mikaela Mirullio.

|
Mirullo came off the bench to score a game
high 12 points to help lead her team to a 35-20 win in
Chickasha. All 12 points were beyond the 3-point line, including
two big shots at the end of the first quarter.
Chickasha got their first lead of the game 6-5 with 1:37 to play
in the first quarter, but the lead lasted for just 34 seconds
when Murillo hit her first trey. Murillo added to the lead with
another trey with :04 left in the quarter to give Guthrie an
11-6 lead.
Guthrie never surrendered the lead and built their biggest lead
up to 18 points late in the fourth quarter.
Murillo added another first half buzzer beater with a second
left in the first half to push the Guthrie lead 18-10 at the
break with her third 3-point shot. She was named as the Farmers
and Merchants Bank Player of the Game.
Chadd sat out of the game nursing an ankle injury while Daniels
was fighting a chest flu.
Guthrie concludes the regular season with a 7 and 16 record and
will open regionals with host Western Heights, Thursday evening.
You can hear the game on 105.1 FM and on Guthrie Sports Page
Radio. Meanwhile, Chickasha falls to 2 and 19 and will play El
Reno in regional action.
