Guthrie, Okla. -- It was
just a seven point game at the half, but the No. 1 ranked Titans
flexed their muscles to get a 40-25 win over Guthrie.

The duo of senior Kylie Mayes and Desiree
Bradley combined for 24 points. Mayes, a Central Oklahoma
signee, led with 13 points in the post while Bradley, a USC
signee, scored 11 points.
Leading the charge for Guthrie was Kacey Acker, who is a SNU
softball signee, scored 11 points and collected the double
double with 10 rebounds. Acker was named to the Farmers and
Merchants Player of the Game.
The Lady Jays jumped out to a 4-0 lead, but Carl Albert scored
10 straight in a 2:28 span and led after the first quarter 12-9.
Bradley, who had spent most of the first quarter on the bench
with foul trouble, scored all 10 Lady Titan second quarter
points, including the first five points of the quarter.
Sophomore guard Ashley Shields sparked Guthrie with four points
in the frame, but the Carl Albert lead had risen to seven at the
break, 22-15.
Guthrie managed just two points in the third quarter and 10
total in the second half.
Carl Albert, who is a monster favorite to make the state
tournament improves to 16-4 and Guthrie falls to 5-15 on the
season. |
