Piedmont does it, again

Almost a carbon copy of the way Guthrie and Piedmont played on January 16 was Tuesday's match-up as well. Unfortunately, the Wildcats walked away winners the second time, too.

In the first game, Piedmont won 37-26 and did the same 39-25, Tuesday evening, inside Guthrie High School gymnasium. The Lady Jays fall to 4 and 13 on the season.

The Lady Jays could manage just 5-points in the first quarter (13-5) and scored just 3-points in the first quarter in the first meeting.

Guthrie's leading scorer Jessica Peacock was unable to score and was held to just 6-points, in Piedmont.

Sophomore Allyson Chadd was named the A-Always Storage Player of the Game by bringing in a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Piedmont was able to hold a double digit lead throughout the second half despite being outrebounded by Guthrie. Both teams struggled shooting the ball by going 24 of 78 combined. Piedmont held a halftime score of 22-13.

Guthrie will next be in action when they host Western Heights for Homecoming 2009. Game time is set for 6:30 and can be heard on Triple Play Sports 105.1 FM.
