Both Guthrie and Deer Creek started off slowly in the first quarter with 9 combined points between the teams, but the Lady Antlers warmed up from outside the arc and trap the Lady Jays for the third time this season, 58-41 inside Guthrie High School gymnasium.
Guthrie (3-9) was hampered by numerous turnovers in the first half, including 10 in the first period, and Deer Creek made five of their last six 3-point attempts to open the gap.
Senior post player Jessica Peacock and another outstanding game with a double-double, 22 points and 11 rebounds, and was named the A-Always Storage Player of the Game. Peacock faced numerous double and triple teams throughout the night.
The Lady Jays will now compete in the NEO Invitational (Miami, OK) round robin with Grove, Miami, and Roland on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
