Emily Davis becomes a Star

By: Chris Evans

Emily Davis has signed to play college basketball at Oklahoma City University. Davis, a four year starter at Guthrie, was an all-state selection for both the Oklahoma Coaches Association and Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association this past season for the Lady Jays and will now move on to nationally known powerhouse OCU.

OCU was 28-5 last season and earned a No. 1 seed in the NAIA tournament and captured the conference and tournament championships in the Sooner Athletic Conference. Head coach Rob Edmission will begin his 19th season as the Stars coach.

Davis help lead the Lady Jays to a regional championship something has not been done in nearly two decades. "Emily is very excited about this opportunity and looks forward to being back on the court," her mother Pam Davis said.
