The Junior High Wrestling team went to the Kingfisher tournament and wrestled great to open up the 2008-2009 season.
Camden Helm placed 5th at 118 pounds, Devin Bilyeu, placed fourth, at 152 pounds. Wyatt Bartells at 78 pounds and Austin Oliver at 165 pounds both placed third.
Timothy O'Connor at 86 pounds, Reggie Dunn at 118 pounds, and Blake Finley at
heavyweight all placed second. Austin O'Connor at 94 pounds, Bryan Dutton at 134
pounds, Andrew Toney at 142 pounds and Landry Chappell at 185 pounds all placed
first and lead the Bluejays to a second place team trophy.
"Every wrestler in the tournament for
Guthrie wrestled really well and contributed to the second place win," head
coach Jared Pearce said.
Coaches Pearce and Eric Woodard will have the grapplers set for their next outing when they dual Perkins, December 16th.
