Daniel Breedlove and Hank Hudson won regionals at No. 1 doubles by defeating Carl Albert in three sets at Oklahoma City Tennis Center, the host for today's and tomorrow's Class 5A State Tournament.

William Bohanan and Josh Wehrenberg also will be playing in state in No. 2 doubles after placing third at regionals.

Hudson and Breedlove '09Hudson and Breedlove played Western Heights in the first round and beat them 6-0, 6-0.  In the next round they played Deer Creek and had almost as an easier time by winning 6-1, 6-1.

In the finals, they took on a familiar foe in Carl Albert. The match marked the sixth time between the Jays and Titans No. 1's.

"We have gone back and forth with them all season, head coach Mary Hudson said. "We needed this win to be seeded ahead of them at state, so this was a huge victory."

Guthrie lost the first set 6-4 and were down 4-5 in the second set. Carl Albert had two match points, but Hudson and Breedlove kept winning points to take it back to deuce in that game and finally won that game to tie the score 5-5.

Hudson and Breedlove won the next two games to win the set.  In the third set, they had to come from behind again to win the match. They will play at 10:30, on Friday morning, to begin 5A State.

Bohanan and Wehrenberg defeated Chickasha in the first round 6-2, 6-1.  In the second round they lost to Carl Albert 6-3, 6-1.  In their third place match they beat Ardmore 6-1, 6-1.

They also play at 10:30, on Friday, at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center.
