The Guthrie Lady Jays softball team picked up their first two victories of the
year while playing in the Cushing Tournament.
After dropping their first two games, Thursday, on day one, Guthrie returned the next day and
took down the Agra Bearcats, 10-0. Pawnee, however, dropped the Lady Jays in the
second game of the afternoon, 5-3.
The win over Agra gave head coach Brian Jackson his first career victory.
One of the best games of the tournament, Saturday afternoon, saw the Lady Jays
pick up a 2-1 win over Hominy.
Guthrie opens up the home portion of the schedule with Piedmont, Monday, and
Shawnee, on Tuesday.
The Lady Jays currently stand 2-4 for the year.
The junior varsity is set to begin at 5:30 with the varsity following at 6:30.
