Random thoughts as practice is underway
Guthrie BlueJay football is officially underway with practice and the season opener is less then a month away.

Jays begin practice in cool temp's
The 2009 high school football season officially kicked off with practice, Tuesday morning, across the state.

Softball falls in season opener
The Guthrie Lady Jay softball team opened up the 2009 season, on the road, in Harrah to begin the Brian Jackson era.

McDonald earns All American honor
Guthrie BlueJay forward B.J. McDonald played in the USA Junior Nationals Basketball tournament.

Berryman, Cunningham honored
Guthrie tennis was honored with multiple scholarships during All-State week.

The Guthrie Lady Jays softball team picked up their first two victories of the year while playing in the Cushing Tournament.

 

After dropping their first two games, Thursday, on day one, Guthrie returned the next day and took down the Agra Bearcats, 10-0. Pawnee, however, dropped the Lady Jays in the second game of the afternoon, 5-3.GSP Radio banner

 

The win over Agra gave head coach Brian Jackson his first career victory.

 

One of the best games of the tournament, Saturday afternoon, saw the Lady Jays pick up a 2-1 win over Hominy.

 

Guthrie opens up the home portion of the schedule with Piedmont, Monday, and Shawnee, on Tuesday.

 

The Lady Jays currently stand 2-4 for the year.

 

The junior varsity is set to begin at 5:30 with the varsity following at 6:30.
