The Guthrie Lady Jays stood toe to toe with Frontier, but dropped the four inning game, 3-2.
Both teams would score a run each in the first and third inning, but Frontier would come across with the winning run in the final inning and then holding Guthrie in their last at bat.
Jamie Poplin (0-2) picked up the loss from the pitching rubber, but did not get much help in the field. The Lady Jays committed four errors while Frontier had three miscues in the game.
Madison Clymer hit her second triple of the season in the loss. Clymer's triple was one of four hits on the day.
Guthrie defeated Frontier earlier in the season 2-1 on just one hit in that game. The Lady Jays fall to 4-7 for the summer with their latest setback in the Perry summer league.
Shelley Berryman, who was named head coach before the summer began, and the Lady Jays will open the 2008 school season when they travel to Shawnee on August 12th.
GSP.com has added more pictures of the Lady Jays in action on their photo page. GSP would like to thank Peggy Webb for her contributions for the softball program.
