A year ago the Guthrie BlueJay Wrestling team won the Putnam City tournament and in doing so won their first tournament since 1982. A year later, Guthrie fell just short in repeating its title as they were out done by Class 6A Moore for the team title. Putnam City finished third while Carl Albert came in at fourth.

Jays freshmen Bryan Dutton and senior Kolt Rinehart won their weight division and were two of four Jays to place in the top three.

Jared Ball finished third in the 112 pound division, Rinehart took the 130 pound championship home, Dutton won the 140 weight class, junior Dennis Murphy finished second in 152 pounds, Michael O'Conner finished thrid at 171, and Tanner Goddard finished second in the 189 division.

Guthrie's John Davidson placed fifth in the 285 division.

The blue birds hit the mat next weekend when they travel to Duncan for the Duncan Tournament (Dec. 18th and 19th).
