match into overtime.
Perkins Shorty Dolen got a pin with :38 left in the first period over Ryan
Medina to give the Demons six quick points. However, Guthrie got two quick pins
of their own when Jeff Russell took down Marlow Wilson with :45 left in the
opening period in the 145 division and Guthrie's Dennis Murphy pinned his
opponent with :53 seconds left in the first period.
Michael O'Connor hit the mat with Lucas Wright for the 189 match. Wright
outscored O'Connor in each of the three periods to pull out the 9-4 win.
Perkins Marshall Nettles got a pin over Jays Tanner Goddard in the 215 match,
but the Jays got a 6-2 win in the 285 class when John Dawson got a 6-2 win over
Braxton Reid.
Ryan Kitch and Bryan Dutton each hit the mat in an exhibition and both got pins
over their opponents. Dutton made quick work 1:28 into the match while Kitch got
his pin in the third period.
Guthrie will participate in the Putnam City Tournament Friday and Saturday. The
