Bilyeu, 30-1, has spent the entire season ranked No.1 and No. 2 in the Class 5A 145 pound weight division. Carl Albert's Jared Porter is currently No. 1 according to okwrestle.com, but both grapplers are No. 1 seeds and could face each other for the state championship. Porter is the only wrestler to come out with a win over Bilyeu this season.
The eight wrestlers in the division make up of two seniors, three juniors, two sophomores, and one freshmen.
Bilyeu the No. 1 seed from the West, and the only upper classmen in the upper bracket, faces Corey Delk, a sophomore from Skiatook, in the first round inside the State Fair Arena. The other match on the same side of the bracket will feature, the No. 3 seed from the West, Altus' sophomore Jeremy Delzer (30-10) versus the East No. 2 seed Andrew Hocutt.
Hocutt is the lone freshmen, from Claremore, and has piled up a 26-13 record for the Zebra's.
The bottom side of the bracket highlights Porter and Deer Creek's junior Heath Boyd. Boyd (29-8) faces Bixby's Bo Gibson (19-9) while Porter matches up with Harrah's Jacob Whitten (20-6).
To win the state championship you must win all three of your matches. The state championships start Friday (2-27) and conclude on Saturday (2-28).
