Ryan Bilyeu finished his senior season 32-2 on the mat for the Guthrie BlueJays and placed second in his weight division for the second time in his tremendous high school career. For that, he was awarded by being named on the Large West All-State team by the Oklahoma Coaches Association.
Bilyeu was a three time placer at the state tournament for Guthrie High School.
The All- State participants will compete as part of the OCA All State Games on Monday July 27th, 2009. The grapplers will compete at 8pm. The venue will be the Union Multi Activity Center (UMAC) in Tulsa.
Bilyeu's two losses this season both came to Carl Albert's Jared Porter, of Carl Albert, including a 3-2 loss, in triple overtime, for the 145 pound state championship, in Class 5A.
