Kansas State football is the second Big XII school to offer Guthrie's Kentrell
Brothers a scholarship. The Wildcats join Missouri from the elite conference.
Tulsa, Duke, and Syracuse have also asked Brothers for his services on the gridiron.
The junior returned from his junior day this past weekend from Oklahoma State.
Brothers visited Oklahoma earlier this year.
The following article was supplied
to Guthrie Sports Page about Brothers trip to
Stillwater. The article comes from
OStateIllustrated.com.
With what looks to be a record number of prospects to
turn out for an OSU junior day Guthrie High School
athlete
Kentrell Brothers was certainly one of the bigger
local names to show up. One of the more versatile junior
prospects in the state, Brothers indicated that he
enjoyed his time in Stillwater this afternoon for a
variety of reasons.
"It went really good," he said. "I got to see the
amazing facilities that they have and it was nice
getting to meet all the coaches that met with the
recruits today. I got to see some of the top players in
the state that I knew and we all pretty much had a good
time up there.
Josh Turner was there,
David Glidden was there,
Brandon Swindall was there, so there were a lot of
people that I knew from around."
Did he get to meet any members of the Cowboy coaching
staff?
"I met Coach DeForest for the first time," replied
Brothers. "I had talked to him a few times and I finally
got to meet him today. I didn't get to talk to Coach
Gundy but I saw him today and a few more of the
coaches."
As far as recruiting is concerned, Brothers discussed
where the OSU program currently stands with regard to
his recruitment.
"Well, you can't really count any colleges out so I'll
never count out Oklahoma State. They're close to home,
I'd heard about the new facility they'd got before I
visited there so it would be a good place to go to
especially if you're trying to get better because they
have good coaches there. They're strength and
conditioning coach there I've heard is one of the best
around so he'd get me in shape if I do decide to go up
there. So you can't count Oklahoma State out, it's a
really good school," he detailed.
Lastly, we asked Brothers if he had any favorite schools
at this point along with which programs are showing him
the most interest.
"I don't know which schools I'm interested in right now
but I'm pretty much hearing from most schools around the
nation. Not all schools but there are a bunch of them,"
he finished.
