Coach talks about the 58-0 win and talks about the Jays offense.

Guthrie -- The Guthrie BlueJays knew they had an advantage. Capitol Hill knew they were at a disadvantage before the game, season ever started.

That was evident on the opening kick off when the Redskins turned the ball over and two plays and 43-seconds later Guthrie had their first of nine scores.

Guthrie led 30-0 after the first quarter and finished off the Redskins with a 58-0 win.

Guthrie improves to 5-4 overall while Capitol Hill falls to 0-9. The Redskins have not won a district game in the past 9-seasons as they head to top ranked Shawnee next week to conclude their season.

Junior running back Derrick Kelly was named the Farmers and Merchants Bank Player of the Game after rushing for 91-yards on just eight carries and finding pay dirt twice on  two and 46-yard runs.

Jays quarterback Bryan Dutton finished with three touchdown passes by finding junior Kentrell Brothers for 12 and 45-yard touchdowns and a 30-yard pass and catch with fellow junior wide-out Devonte McCulley.

Brothers finished with 102-yards receiving on just four carries and later hit the airport for a trip to the Iowa University football game with an 11am start Saturday morning.

Senior Christina Lamb, who took all the second half snaps at quarterback, find the end zone for his first touchdown this season from 5-yards out to finalize the scoring in a game that saw a running clock for the entire second half.

Guthrie had drives of 2, 3, 8, 4, 4, 3, 3, and 5-yards to go along with a first quarter safety.

With the win, Guthrie secures the third spot of 5A-2 and will play on the road in the first round of the play-offs at either Duncan or El Reno.

Shawnee won the district and Carl Albert finishes second. Ardmore and Durant, who play at Ardmore this week, will play for the fourth and final spot and the right to play El Reno or Duncan in the first round.

Guthrie finishes the regular season when they host Noble, who's only win this season came against Capitol Hill. The game will also be Senior Night for the Jays.
