Cox Communications has released their football television schedule for the 2008 season and again the Guthrie BlueJays have landed a spot.
Despite just five Class 5A games on the schedule, Guthrie will appear on the tube in Week 7 (Thursday, October 16th) when they travel to Midwest City and play the Carl Albert Titans. Many across the state are predicting another showdown with possibly a district championship on the line between the two powerhouses.
The BlueJays won last seasons game, 24-21, in front of a jam pack crowd and a Cox viewing audience with Guthrie winning their first district title under head coach Rafe Watkins.
"This is a rivalry game and is a battle between two championship teams and two championship coaches," Jerry Hayes of Cox Communications said. "This is the Jenks-Union game on this side of the state."
Cox Communications can be found locally on Channel 7.
