the knock you over with a feather section, Guthrie senior and stand-out
athlete Donte' Foster was named to the Oklahoma Coaches Association
All-State basketball team from the West.
Foster and others are scheduled to play Thursday, July 30th, at Oral Roberts University, in Tulsa, as part of the 2009 OCA All State games.
Foster helped lead the Jays to back-to-back Class 5A state championships while averaging 16-points a game his senior season. Foster, a 4-year starter for head coach Pete Papahronis, played in all four state tournaments and finished with a record of 6-2 in those games.
Papahronis was named as the assistant coach for the Large West team while rival Carl Albert's Jay Price was named the head coach. Papahronis, who has walked the sidelines for six seasons now, became the third coach in Guthrie history to win two state championships by winning the 2009 title.
Logan County Representing: Along with Foster and Papahronis being honored so was Coyle's Darrius Woods and Josh Sumrall. Woods led the Bluejackets in a tough and competitive Class A run to the area finals. Head coach Sumrall will help coach the Small West team.
