Guthrie baseball season comes to an end

By: Chris Evans

The Guthrie Bluejay baseball season came to an abrupt end on Wednesday afternoon after losing two games in regional play to Carl Albert and Noble to finish their season with a 17-14 record.

In the first game of the day with Carl Albert, the Jays would go up against one of the best pitchers in the state in Dillion Andrews as the Jays could only scratch two runs in a 13-2 loss in five innings. Andrews picked up his 10th win of the season to improve to 10-0.

Carl Albert open the game up in the second inning by scoring 10 runs. Guthrie put single runs on the board in the third and fourth innings.

In an elimination game with Noble, Guthrie held a 2-1 lead after two innings, but the Bears would score 5-runs in the fifth and 4-runs in the sixth to get the 10-run run rule to end the game.

Guthrie says goodbye to seven seniors: Sean Ellis, Michael Harmon, Josh Taft, J Hensley, Justin Chappell, Robbie Shuffield, and Ashton Morgan.
